About

With over seventeen years of experience working in non-profit business development/philanthropy and in 23+ countries Latin America, Asia, Europe, and Africa, including three years overseas, as the principal consultant for Strategic Partnership Advisors, LLC, I understand the expectations donors, nonprofit managers and staff living overseas. Specifically, my work has focused on facilitating meetings, business development, partner and donor negotiations, communications, budget, grant management, capacity building for business development and cost proposals, and staff management responsibilities. I have a proven track record in increasing grant revenue for both large and small organizations and have also worked on the donor side at a major US-based foundation. I have a Masters in Public Administration and am fluent in Spanish.

About

FACILITATION

I have experience on facilitating technical design, positioning, action planning, strategy, team building, MOU negotiations, and conflict resolution meetings. In this capacity, I work with clients to develop meeting agendas, design the workshop process, moderate, compile the workshop proceedings, and summarize meeting evaluations.

Examples

As the Senior Director for Strategic Partnerships, I led Lutheran World Relief institutional donor strategies to grow the portfolio from $5 million a year in grants in 2012 to over $35 million a year in grants in 2016.

My experience spans the development and execution of foundation, private sector, USG and bilateral donor analysis and plans. These plans identified and addressed critical brand priorities and knowledge gaps, helping to build institutional strategies for growth.

When a foundation client had staffing gaps, I stepped in to support the review and analysis of grantee reports. I prepared written materials for management review.

I supported executive leadership in a project management role involving a merger between two medium sized International NGOs. In a project management capacity, I ensured we were on track with work streams ranging from legal, financial, communication, to organizational culture . Working closely with the boards and supporting the board meetings was also integral to my engagement.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

I have over seventeen years of experience leading business development activities, be it recruiting for key personnel, designing management plans, writing proposals, developing donor strategies for foundations, U.S. Government, corporations, or peers.
